Newborn Muay Thai Training Schedule

Tuesday 5:00 to 6:30 PM

Class is mixed beginners and advanced students. Typical session begins with 30 minutes of calisthenics and basic footwork, punching, and kicking. The regimen for the next hour begins with varied sets of grueling kicking, punching, kneeing, and clinching drills. Next is technical training, usually in sets of combined attacking and defending followed by partners practicing these tecnhiques. The session ends with 10 minutes of varied core-strenghtening calisthenics.

Thursday 5:00 to 6:30 PM

Class is mixed beginners and advanced students. Similar to the Tuesday session with less emphasis on the drills and more on techniques and technical sparring and clinching.

Sunday Beginners 10:00 to 11:00 AM

Class is technical training for new students. The regimen is the same as in the weekly classes, but the techiques are more basic.

Sunday Advanced 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM

Class is for advanced students by invitation. Generally you need at least 6 months training before being invited, but newer students with other martial arts skills may be invited sooner.

The first 30 minutes is cross-training. Students progress through 10 stations with different exercises that work every part of the body. The next 90 minutes of technical training, sparring, and clinching are more difficult and at a faster pace than the weekly sessions.

Monday Conditioning (currently on hold) 9:00 to 10:00 AM

Optional workout for all students led by competitive fighter, Grant Schwallie, is an hour of push-ups, chin-ups, punching, kicking, kneeing on the bags, and other exercises to condition the body for the demands of Muay Thai. It's on hold for now because of a work-schedule conflict.
